Day 10 - Not working on anything in particular, just revising for my exam next week. #Python & #Perl, practicing all the basics that might show up on the paper.
#100DaysOfCode

Day 8 - I realize I'm not really doing consecutive days, but I've been super busy with my house settlement so excuse my gaps.

Today I worked on finalizing my web application front-end with vuejs.

#100DaysOfCode
Would love to see some show and tell! 😁

Hahahah, these all get cross-posted to Twitter so there isn't enough room! :P

I'll do a friendica only post when I get a bit more time!!

At least 72 countries in the world criminalize same sex relationships. In 10 countries the death penalty can be applied for same sex acts. Many countries do not offer any form of legal recognition of trans and gender variant people's true gender.

Sexual and gender minorities face public stigmatization, police violence, state repression, attacks and murders.

May 17th is dedicated to the International Day Against #Homophobia, #Transphobia, and #Biphobia, marking the day in 1990 when the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from its list of mental disorders.

#Settlement finally went through, we are now the owners of an apartment in #Brisbane City. Unfortunately the seller didn't complete any of his repairs or remove his junk furniture as stipulated in the contract, so he nows gets another 7 days otherwise money from a trust is released to us to complete it ourselves.

#Renovations are underway already, new floors are going in immediately, new kitchen shortly, and paint EVERYTHING.

Congratulations!

Thank you!

Day 6/7 - Finalizing my #Python assignment. Completely finished Stage 1 which involved reading and executing flows and services from a json file. #100DaysOfCoding

I should totally and ask for feedback! My python is WEAK sauce. I've been reading this:

https://nostarch.com/pythoncrashcourse/

If you'd like, Clifford, give us a look at it. This is equal opportunity old-farting.

Settlement in 3 days (after being delayed 2 weeks), can finally get stuck into our renovations. Until then, we #Destiny2.

Day 4/5 - To be honest I've not done much actual #coding. Our capstone programming project is in the final stages and I've spent a lot of time writing test cases and finalizing other documentation. I did do a little more on my #python assignment, and created a few more services and flows. #100DaysOfCoding

  1.  #!/usr/bin/env python
  2.
  3.  print('Hello to you too, Clifford!')

I see you setting your environment up there 😀

Day 3 - Working on #Python assignment to process flows & services from a #json configuration file. #100DaysOfCode

It's a built-in too which is super nice.

Nice. I really need to dust off my python toolbox and do more with it.

Day 2 - Worked on user authentication checks for my capstone project in #vuejs.
#100DaysOfCode

Day 1 - Finished my week 9 module on using Python in an OO manner. #100DaysOfCode

Watching S02E03 of The Handmaid's Tale and serioUSLY JUNE IS GIVING ME SO MUCH ANXIETY STOP DOING STUPID STUFF.

I think I'll start the #100DaysOfCode challenge today 😀

What's a nice #terminal emulator that allows split screen (horizontal / vertical)? One which I can customize colour-wise please! ❤

You're awesome! At it again with the killer suggestions 😀

Repping ElementaryOS to the #WomenWhoCode #Brisbane workshop this afternoon.

And that dock 😁

What's your favorite #linux distro and why? Looking for some #suggestions. I need something that's fairly stable, good for #development (particularly #front-end web applications), and is customizable. And go! 😀

#MX-17. It's Debian Stable but with up-to-date tested software and lots of wonderful cool tools. Good for newbies and technophobic kids like me. Xfce desktop.

I use anything that doesn't have systemd hahahahha

Applying for graduate positions is so soul crushing.

It's not even funny, RIP me. Hahaha. So many applications, so many video interviews, so many generic online testing sessions. :|

i can understand 😁 trust me i am a post graduate 😁

Honestly wish I had the balls to #deletefacebook.

The idea is that I want to warn other people of the dangers of it. You don't have to do something dangerous to be able to warn others about it. I might do that. If I do I will use it via Tor and use a fake email address. So do you have ideas for it? Something that could be persuasive?

I probably don't have anything to add that's insightful or can't be found with a really basic search. Sorry.

Well, you can at least explain your emotional attachment. If you want

Four weeks of #university left before I #graduate. I've got one graded lab and one assignment in #Python, as well as finishing up my capstone web application. #ICanSeeTheFinishLine

Nice, sounds like a good fit for the project. I hadn't heard of the Vue framework. There are so many js frameworks that it's hard to keep up with them all 😁 Good luck to you and the team!

Yeah, I've only used it in this project, so it's a learning experience. There are definitely a lot of frameworks floating around out there. Thanks for the well wishes! 😀

Wow, Python in a university!? When I attended they made us code in Java and C++ and told us to like it. Always thought Python was better for beginners with its forced formatting keeping things orderly.

We did Python in our very first "intro to programming" unit, and from then on out it was predominantly Java, C, C++. I'm doing a scripting unit right now which covers both Perl and Python. To be honest I hate Python. I also found learning Java a lot easier than my first Python unit. That could be a result of many things though (bad lecturer? bad material? Who knows).

Glad we chose to use VueJS in our capstone project.

GitHub *finally* moved the + and - symbols from diffs to CSS pseudo-elements, making it possible to copy code directly from a diff without having to clean it up. That is long overdue and fantastic. ✨
