I don’t believe we should have only one or two social media networks. My hope is a world where we could have dozens of interoperable social networks focused on different goals and purposes. When I’ve proposed publicly-funded social media networks, it’s not because I believe taxpayers should pay for a replacement for Facebook. It’s because I think we need networks that take seriously problems like deliberation and diversity, and I don’t yet see those projects emerging from the market.

My opinion is that it is well backed scientifically and productive, in that it largely explains the extreme reactions of several males wanting to be women when confronted to women that don't entirely support the idea that "transwomen are women, period". Perig, I think you have to find a different sparring partner for this. I have no interest in reading and watching a variety of anti-trans links you found, and insist on saying they are representative. It is especially disturbing to me that you post a link to a story "debunking" high suicide rates among trans people. The exact statistic is not the important thing here; high suicide rates, and more broadly mental health issues affecting trans people are well documented in a variety of studies. So, farewell, I'm not going to continue this discussion.
